Theme - "Tomorrow Never Dies" - Sheryl Crow
My favourite opening sequence. Made all the better by Geoffrey Palmer.
ReplyDeleteBrosnan also looks more grown-up in this.
ReplyDeleteKD Lang did a song for this as well.
ReplyDeleteIt was better.
I like a bit of Sheryl Crow but she wasn't quite right for this song.
ReplyDeleteI love that bit between Moneypenny and M. Implies that M isn't a total bitch the whole time.
ReplyDeleteMy first choice for a female M would have always been Helen Mirren but Judi Dench owns it in this one.
ReplyDeleteQ still resenting handing equipment over.
ReplyDeleteVery irresponsible. If Q gets tagged by that car at his age they're going to have to shoot him like an old horse.
ReplyDeleteRolling off the back of 'Lois & Clark'...personally I don't think Hatcher was a great choice.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. She must go to bed every night thanking god for Stacey from A View to a Kill.
DeleteFor a spy, Bond needs to learn to control himself a bit. He gets ignored for a couple of minutes and gets all pissy dropping innuendos, totally giving the game away.
ReplyDelete"Hi, I'm Ed Winchester!"
ReplyDelete"Get off my train!"
ReplyDeleteThat's Paris dead then...ah well.
ReplyDeleteI like Kaufman...proper Allo Allo comic german.
ReplyDeleteVincent Shiavelli there almost taking the best henchman spot with less than 3 minutes of screen time
ReplyDeleteAnother sequence I like...except, the little buzz saw under the BMW badge...bit too specific, a step too far.
ReplyDeleteHow irresponsible was that! That street is packed Bond you twat!
ReplyDeleteWade, you have literally just heard how to pronounce the word 'Devonshire'. How do you still get it wrong?
ReplyDeleteA bit of classic henchman driving there. Straight into a row of parked bikes.
ReplyDeleteAgain...all very good...ridiculous helicopter thing a step too far.
ReplyDeleteThe first in oriental languages letting him down there.
ReplyDeleteI think there must be more puns in Brosnan's films that all of the others added together. 99% of them are awful.
ReplyDeleteI bet that boat owner is really regretting taking that payment in dollars in 2012.
ReplyDeleteWalther P99, no hammer, less likely to jam. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteStealth boat less stealthy when you're just...y'know...looking at it.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Pryce still not the most offensive thing to Asians on the Bond back catalogue. A spirited effort though.
ReplyDeleteCarver would have been a good 'big bad' character to have pulling the strings in the background over a few films. A blofeld for the modern age.
ReplyDeleteThank god modern naval warfare still relies on steam.
ReplyDeleteFirst time that we've had a great villain, henchman and Bond girl all in one film. It's kind of amazing that they said they wanted to make a 'Jinx' spin off but never a Wai Lin one.
ReplyDeleteFavourites so far...
