The first appearance of General Gogol!
ReplyDeleteExpecting big things here. I remember this being a favourite as a kid. I loved the music and had a thing for XXX. Might see some break ins to my favourite list with this one.
ReplyDeleteBarbara Bach isn't a brilliant actress. Mind you she's following Britt Ekland...
ReplyDeleteThey obviously didn't get my letter about the skiing.
ReplyDeleteOne of the more iconic openings.
ReplyDeleteGreat theme tune.
ReplyDeleteGogol's office always looks chilly.
ReplyDeleteIt's those eyes!
ReplyDeleteAnd the first appearance of Goeffrey Keen as the Minister of Defence. A lot of great firsts in this one.
ReplyDeleteSome terrible model work in this. 'Stingray' was more convincing!
ReplyDeleteAnd the first for Jaws...marvellous!
ReplyDelete"What can I get you? Sheeps eyes? Dates? Strumpet?"
ReplyDeleteJaws. That can't be hygienic.
ReplyDeleteBit of a comedy fight scene, this one - Jaws and Bond in the ruins...you can tell by Moore's "Ooof"s
ReplyDeleteHe's not going to drop that "shared bodily warmth" line.
ReplyDeleteI've still got a toy version of this car somewhere.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I had to mention that it was a toy.
DeleteWhy is Q in Sardinia? Sending the head of the department out do deliver a piece of kit...
ReplyDeleteFinally...a substantial part for Shane Rimmer.
ReplyDeleteVillians love a monorail!
ReplyDeleteWell that's my favourite daft scene so far, Carter and Bond speaking quickly and then running away from each other. Always reminds me of the "But Flash, we only have 14 hours to save the earth!" line from Flash Gordon
ReplyDeleteI'll have a Q-branch jetski, just for when my battle sub isn't ptactical.
ReplyDeleteBarbara Bach not doing a great deal for my opinion of the competence of the KGB.
ReplyDeleteHave added a new category but a few titles have been toppled...

I love the classical music that accompanies the villain's words, "Observe Mr Bond, the instruments of armageddon" as the tanker bow doors let out 2 nuclear subs.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the name of this piece of music?
Hmm. Trying to track down that scene on YouTube as don't have the film to hand. No luck so far though sadly. Guess it's one of these but don't think I'd recognise it off the top of my head:

The Track I've found out is called Tanker II, and is not on the soundtrack (tanker I is though). So if anyone knows where I can get tanker II pipe up please.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks to Kevin T for trying.
