  3. I've said this out loud, but for the sake of completeness...

I think this film gets a bad rap; slating it has become a cliché, like with "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". I enjoy it.

And it's also a beautiful film; the camera direction, locations, and composition are gorgeous. The direction and choreography in the early fight sequence, with Mitchell is brilliant.

It's a shame the theme is so dire, but there you go.

There you are, I'm getting off my soapbox now.

    Carry on.

    There you go

    1. Dude, I share the soap-box:

The Tosca/chase scene with music-over-action editing was awesome. It IS beautiful.

Totally stolen in Avengers German-museum scene and Seherlock Holmes (II) opera scene.

They clearly knew it was awesome.

There is NOTHING wrong with this brilliant movie.

Now go and watch Hitman to see why Kurylenko is really the nest Bond girl yet...

      ps - comments on Skyfall?

  4. I get the feeling that, by coincidence, M's language is probably worse on the occasions when she's not on screen.

  5. Daniel Craig's Bond really has raised the bar for Bond girls.

  6. They've also raised the bar for location card typography.

  7. Not doing wonders for the CIA, this one. Explains why Felix is looking so F'ed off.

  9. Oh, there's Felix, with his face like a slapped arse.

  10. Only Bond can get away with seducing a woman, taking her to a party and then leaving her there while he leaves with another woman.

  11. I think Craig's Bond is very much a distillation and extension of Dalton's. I like that...Dalton was a good template to build on.

  12. I blame relativity but I just don't find airplane fights exciting.

  17. We were chatting after 'The Living Daylights' that it was and interesting grown-up move that Bond got through the whole film and didn't sleep with Kara, the Bondgirl, 'til the end.
In this one he doesn't sleep with Camille, the publicised main Bondgirl, at all.

  18. Much better than it's given credit for. Not a classic or anything but good stuff
